Why I’m Here

“For me, joining United Communities Corp. was never just about taking a new job — it was about answering a calling.”

Before joining U.C.C., I spent 17 years as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. During that time, I witnessed the devastating impact of substance use disorder from every angle. I saw individuals struggling with addiction, families desperately holding onto hope during recovery, parents supporting their children through countless setbacks, and the heartbreaking reality of relapse. I also experienced the profound loss of friends whose lives ended far too soon because of an overdose.

A Day in My Work

Most mornings start with getting a clear picture of the day ahead — reviewing the CEO’s schedule, meetings, and upcoming events, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. I manage his email correspondence, keep the calendar organized and current, and confirm that everything the team needs — from supplies to logistics — is in place before the day gets underway.

Behind the scenes, I am a Certified Application Counselor (CAC), I have my Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA) Leadership Certification and I stay committed to ongoing training, because staying sharp and informed is part of how I show up for this organization every day.

My Approach

As the Executive Administrative Director of Operations for United Communities Corp., I have the opportunity to support an organization that meets people where they are with compassion, dignity, and without judgment. Every day, I help connect individuals and families with the resources, education, and support they need to navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

I don’t do this work for recognition or photo opportunities. I do it because I know that educating just one person about overdose prevention, harm reduction, or available resources could save a life. It could spare a family the unimaginable pain of losing someone they love.

Those experiences changed me. I realized I no longer wanted to simply work within a system that dispensed medications — I wanted to be part of the solution that helps people before it’s too late.

Beyond Work

Outside of U.C.C., I recharge with the little things that bring me joy — coloring, doing art, and styling hair. I love organizing, and you can usually find me with an iced coffee in hand. It’s in these quiet, creative moments that I find balance so I can keep showing up fully for the people we serve.
